The ACA and the EMPLOYER MANDATE: Are you ready?
As the Employer Mandate portion of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) or better known as "Obama Care" fast approaches, is your firm ready for compliance with this new and far reaching law? On January 1, 2015, "large" employers, those with 100 or more FTE as defined in the complicated ACA legislation, will be required to provide a specific level of health insurance to its employees or face an annual penalty of at least $2000 per FTE. Most employers we talk with are quite aware of the general parameters of the ACA but we also find that many lack the knowledge necessary to assure their compliance with regard to specifics of the ACA in general and the required IRS reporting rules.
As a large provider of employment related services, we are interested in the general level of knowledge our clients have with regard to the ACA.
