QC Inspector

Nature of Work:
Responsible for verifying, measuring, and inspecting incoming product to ensure it meets the purchase order and MPN requirements. Reports to the Team Leader, Supervisor and/or Quality Manager.

Duties and Task Statements:
  • Open and navigate in Microsoft Outlook.
  • Open and navigate IQC/MRB database.
  • Ability to open and navigate in MAX.
  • Ability to open and navigate the internet and intranet.
  • Regular attendance by the employee is required to meet quality goals and customer commitments.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties to provide a safe working environment at all times.
  • Willingness to adjust schedule to meet customer needs.

Inspection Duties
  • Verification of marked components and the ability to distinguish between part markings, date codes, and lot codes.
  • Read and understand the datasheets attached to the IQC/MRB database.
  • Ability to verify RoHS compliance
  • Label creation
  • How to verify and handle Moisture Sensitive components
  • How to find and verify a certificate of compliance.
  • Understand terminology used in work instructions
  • Know when to contact Engineering for assistance.
  • Know what documentation is required when a component does not meet specifications.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned by the Supervisor, Team Leader or Quality Manager
  • Perform general housekeeping duties to provide an organized and safe working environment at all times.
  • Regular attendance by the employee is required to meet quality goals and customer commitments.

Formal Interaction with Others:
Interacts with all staff members within the department as well as other outside personnel. Daily contact with stockroom, purchasing and engineering. Communicates with the Team Leader, Supervisor and/or Quality Manager to obtain instructions.

Work Environment:
The work setting consists of a production environment with suitable lighting, a moderate to high noise level, and comfortable temperatures. The work schedule consists of a five day, 40-hour work week with overtime dependent upon department needs.

Minimum Qualifications
Should have some electronics experience.

A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additionally, the employee must successfully complete all internal courses offered by the company necessary to do the job.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The employee must have excellent vision including the ability to distinguish between colors and varying shades of color, and the ability to read screen-printing symbols and component values. Employee must be able to be able to read and write in English and be able to comprehend technical data. This position requires mathematical skills at a level slightly above basic math. Must be able to sit and perform stationary work for the majority of the shift. May be required to lift 40lbs periodically. Must be able to work independently and safely at all times. Must maintain confidentiality of all company and customer information.
