Opthalmic Technician

Experience in ophthalmic procedures, refraction, visual fields and diagnostic testing, eye surgery, office procedures, medical and ophthalmic terminology, basic anatomy of the eye, general clinic operation. Team-oriented, self-motivated, patient-oriented, caring attitude. Independently trouble-shoots and problem solves. Preferred COA or COT certification. Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) required.

?Coordination of patient flow in back office.
?Data entry into EMR system.
?Work-up patients for exams
?Performs diagnostic testing: BATand PAM
?Performs, minor procedures and lasers
?Write/prepare eyeglass prescriptions (RX) for physician signature.
?Write/prepare medication RX for physician signature.
?Phone, fax, mail, e-scribe medication RX to pharmacy (as requested).
?Phone, fax, mail eyeglass RX to optical shop (as requested).
?Daily cleaning of exam rooms.
?Re-stocking of exam rooms at end of week.
?Order certain exam room/clinical supplies.
?Pre- and Post-op patient education.
?Return patient and pharmacy calls.
?Prepare lab & diagnostic testing slips.
?Call patients with directions or results, as directed by physician.
?Participate in Health Fairs.
?Participate in Free Screening clinics.
?Maintain patient confidentiality as per HIPAA/HITECH compliance.
?Other duties as assigned by Physicians, Manager, or Department Supervisor.

This is a fun but professional medical practice looking for a team player to support their current work loads, wage incentives and benefits available after hire on, must be able to work 8 hour shifts between 6:30am and 5:15am
