Description

1 SUMMARY
1.1 This position is responsible for performing finishing of machined parts.
2 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
2.1 Visually inspects CNC machined parts.
2.2 Performs deburring, buffing, and polishing of parts according to blueprint specification using various hand and power tools.
2.3 Examines surfaces of machined parts to detect defects such as dents, scratches, burrs or breaks in metal.
2.4 Prepares surface of parts to specified finish.
2.5 Performs other secondary operations as needed.
2.6 Inspects own work.
2.7 Selects proper methods and tools for deburring.
2.8 Good communication skills.
2.9 Get along with others.
2.10 Able to lift up to 40 pounds and 41+ pounds as a two-person lift
2.11 Maintains deburring equipment.

5 QUALIFICATIONS

5.1 EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE. No experience required, but mechanical ability and attention to detail is required.
5.2 LITERACY/COMMUNICATION SKILLS. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in written form with co-workers. Ability to proofread and review documents for technical accuracy and conceptual clarity.
5.3 MATHEMATICAL SKILLS. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. High school level math.
5.4 REASONING ABILITY. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
5.5 COMPUTER SKILLS. None required.
5.6 CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS. None required.
5.7 OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES. Excellent attention to details and accuracy. Ability to use hand tools, drill motors, drill presses and manual lathe as required to accomplish finishing of parts.

6.1 While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, talk and hear.
6.2 The employee may occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Objects weighing between 41 & 70 pounds require a two person lift. Objects weighing more than 70 pounds require equipment to assist in the lift.
6.3 Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
7 WORK ENVIRONMENT
