Represent COVID vaccines accurately (based on scientific evidence), answer complex questions by a diverse range of individuals.

Promote interest in COVID vaccination at community events utilizing established materials or creating some if needed.

Encourage citizens to utilize Josephine County?s Call Center.

Working closely with other member of the COVID-19 Vaccination Team, administer COVID-19 vaccines at community events.

Basic consultation with vaccine recipients about their medical status in regard to COVID vaccine eligibility.

Coordinate with Public Health Medical Officers about the appropriateness of vaccination in more complex patients.

Advise patients realistically and appropriately about what to expect after a COVID-19 vaccine.

Assist with medical paperwork associated with vaccine administration.

Stand willing to record vaccine administrations in ALERTiis system.

Prepare COVID vaccines and store them appropriately.

Observe patients for the appropriate amount of time post vaccination for concerning reactions.

Seek out opportunities for community COVID-19 vaccination.

Skills Required:

Must meet the Oregon Health Authority?s Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act Declaration list of individuals who are authorized to administer COVID-19 vaccines. See Attached OHA Overview for complete list.

Customer service skills are paramount! Effective, clear, and concise oral communication of difficult or complex issues.

o Strict adherence to principles of Patient Confidentiality.

Excellent interpersonal communication and culturally sensitive skills in working with the public.

Willingness to engage in a non-confrontational manner with the public to answer questions.

Proficiency in use of Windows 2016 or newer and Microsoft Office Suite of products for: o Email

Calendars (will be used for links to meetings and trainings)

Zoom Conferencing System (or other video conferencing programs). Zoom and/or Teams will be used for Program Meetings, Team Meetings and Staff Trainings


Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings and weekends. Daily time requirement will vary between 0 - 6 hours per day.

Preferred but not Required:

React to highly unlikely adverse reactions to the vaccine administration, including administering epinephrine and alerting emergency medical services.

Spanish speaking.

Tight ties to the community; possibly ample local community involvement with a presence in our community and experience with tending to citizens in our area.

Medical professional experience.
