We are looking for a computer savvy individual who is outgoing, driven to excellence, extroverted, has good math skills, exceptional customer service skills, and is able to stay motivated and think quick on their feet. In this role you will assist the dispatch associates with the day-to-day tasks to keep freight moving. We talk with customers, carriers, and shippers daily, we build freight loads, process required paperwork, enter data into our freight system, and are on the phones, all day, throughout the day. The transportation industry is ever changing, no one day is ever the same, it's a fast paced environment. It is imperative we are constantly communicating with carriers and shippers in order to keep customers informed.

Previous administrative assisting, or general office experience, including heavy phones, data-entry, problem solving, daily use of Outlook, some Word and Excel, is required.

As an assistant dispatch associate you will assist with brokering freight loads; we handle loads nationwide and support multiple shippers and manufacturing accounts.

The responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

Essential Job Duties:
? Enter loads into company's database; dispatch and monitor loads from start to finish.
? Effectively dispatch drivers for on-time pick-up and delivery.
? Consistently follow all operational instruction, direction, documented processes, and
Procedures.
? Keep the company's database updated, as required, with information from the account manager, carrier, and/or driver.
? Monitor carrier performance, take required action to report carrier issues, or stop using carrier all together. Report issues with carriers, or accounts to President & CEO.
? Handle various complex logistic situations.
? Constantly communicate clearly, and professionally with customers and carriers via phone and/or email.
? Handle high telephone call volume, inbound and outbound, in a courteous efficient manner.
? Contract trucking companies to haul van, reefer and flatbed loads throughout the United States and Canada in accordance with customer driven time constraints and within a negotiated rate that maintains a profit for the company.
? Develop and maintain relationships with a core group of carriers, by using an established list, as well as obtain new carriers by using available industry tools and cold calling different sources. Facilitate efficient and proper setup of new carrier?s accounts.
? Negotiate long term capacity and rate structures with core carriers.
? Master and stay up-to-date on knowledge of various lane costs, transit time requirements, hours of service, etc. throughout assigned geographic territory.
? Identify opportunities for additional business and continuous improvements.
? Maintain excellent communication with Management concerning exceptions, failures, issues impacting service, etc.
? Foster growth in brokerage business through collaboration with all departments
? Complete any other tasks or duties as assigned.

? Ability to quickly adapt to change, be flexible.
? Must be coachable, willing to learn new things.
