Multiple Openings in the Glue Room Department
Glue Joint Paddling=In this position the individual is putting glue into the scarfs with a pre-cut paddle. Involves bending to dip the paddle into the glue bucket and then dropping the boards down to a table where they are assembled.
Crowder Operator and Scarf Stapler= This position the individual is referred to the Crowder operator uses a hydraulic ram to press the wood tightly together, the stapler then uses a staple gun to staple all the scarfs white it is tight. After send the wood through the glue extruder.
Lay-in Crew = This individual at this point will carry the wood after it comes through the glue extruder from the rollers to the press. Wood varies in weight from a 20’ 2x4 which weighs 22lbs to 60’ 2x12 which weights 200lbs. This individual is also responsible for putting wax paper in between individual beams, putting sticks and rods in the middle of the lockup for the clamping process.
Lock-up Crew= This position is in charge of applying the pressure to the lockup. They need to lift the pads from the bin to the rods, and apply washers and nuts to the rods. Then they run an air powered wrench to apply the proper torque to each/rod in line. Also responsible for using a heavy piece of steel to level the wood in the lock up as they are applying pressure to the press.
All employees rotate throughout these crews during the day except for the crower/stapler position. Each position will entail at least 2-5 people helping each other out.Job Location = Vancouver Criminal Background = okay Drug Free Jobsite
