The Powder Coatings Production Operator is responsible for the day-to-day duties involved with the production of powder coatings, ensuring products are made per recommended guidelines, providing QC lab with samples as required, and making adjustments to materials and machinery based on feedback from QC to ensure all products are made on time and within specification. Responsibilities The Powder Coatings Production Operator is responsible for the day-to-day duties involved with the production of powder coatings, ensuring products are made per recommended guidelines, providing QC lab with samples as required, and making adjustments to materials and machinery based on feedback from QC to ensure all products are made on time and within specification. Essential Functions ? Ability to run Mixing, Extrusion and Grinding Processes. ? Assists others as required to ensure production continues uninterrupted. ? Compiles and provides complete, accurate and timely records of machine settings, test results. ? Works in a safe and appropriate manner at all times. ? Recommends and makes adjustments as recommended by Supervisor, QC and other production staff to ensure product specifications are met. ? Has good understanding of 5S and basic housekeeping. ? Ability to operate Pallet Jack, Fork Truck, Pressure Washer, power tools. ? Follow printed instructions & paperwork to ensure correct materials and settings are used at all times. ? Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures ? Perform LEAN activities as determined by the company ? Other duties as assigned by Powder Production Manager Desired Experience ? A minimum of 2 years Production experience in a high volume manufacturing environment. ? Lean Business Practices, familiarity with Kaizen processes. ? Good verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal customers and other production operators. ? Excellent color-vision and eyesight. ? Working knowledge of scales, mixing, extrusion and grinding processes. ? Knowledge of color science, color matching experience a plus. ? Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service. ? Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices Preferred Education Level ? High school diploma or GED . ? Continuing education and short courses directly related to the company objectives and position for personal development and professional advancement are encouraged. Working Conditions ? Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. ? Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. ? Job involves working in production environment for exposure. This may be noisy and wet at certain times. ? Work hours: Core hours are dependent upon shift worked, but will be Monday-Friday, 5.30am-2pm,or 2pm ? 12.30am Tuesday ? Friday, with some Saturdays as needed. ? Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. ? Must be able to listen and communicate clearly.
