We have an exciting career opportunity for a night - Maintenance Mechanice! We are looking for someone to provide shift maintenance support to ensure the highest efficiency in plant operations.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and plant operating systems. Complete necessary documentation.
  • Changeover equipment in support of the plant production schedule and/or as requested by Production Shift Supervisor.
  • Trouble shoots and repair equipment and systems to minimize plant downtime. Notify Supervisor when parts are pulled from stock to ensure adequate inventory of key parts and supplies are maintained.
  • Complete Projects as assigned and prioritized by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Document all Shift activities in Daily Maintenance Log.
  • Continually inspect and monitor plant equipment and systems during scheduled shift. A complete plant walk-through is conducted at least once during each assigned shift.
  • Observe and follow all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) rules and plant safety requirements.

Job Scope:

  • The Maintenance Technician is completely responsible for equipment and supporting systems for the duration of assigned shift. Incumbents operate from established and well-known procedures most of the time.
  • Routine functions are performed on a daily basis however; very complex troubleshooting is required when equipment or systems fail.
  • Moderate supervision is available and support can be obtained by phone on the off shifts.
  • Shift Technicians must notify the Maintenance Manager when the plant is down for more than one hour.

Interpersonal Contacts:

  • This position interfaces with all departments during the shift.
  • Primary contact is with the Shift Production Supervisor on a face-to-face basis.
  • Contacting of suppliers and vendors for parts and technical support may be required.

Specific Job Skills and Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of Welding, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Mechanical Functions, and Basic Electrical in order to repair, rebuild, replace parts and trouble shoot when failures occur.
  • Must have manual dexterity and the ability to use tools proficiently. 
  • Must have own set of hand tools applicable to food processing equipment
  • Pay grades will be assigned in accordance with overall skill and experience.

Education and/or Experience:

Must have a minimum of 2-4 years of food processing and/or industrial plant maintenance experience. Certifications in one or more technical area preferred.

Job Conditions:

  • Must be able to climb and work in constrained environments in a wide range of temperatures and humidity conditions.

    $ 20.00


    M-F (some weekends)
    40 Hrs/Week
