Responsible for the efficient and safe repair of equipment, provides technical assistance to employees, ensures work area is kept clean, performs all duties associated in repair of the vehicle or trailer, and maintains hours per repair completed.
Technical knowledge of diesel engines, semi-truck construction, and good communication skills.
Maintenance facility environment: Involves 40% sitting and working at a computer/video display terminal and 60% working on the floor.

Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; must be able to lift 30 lbs to waist height. Must be able to type on a keyboard.
A Diesel Technician possesses complete and thorough knowledge of mechanics as it pertains to two axles and three axle tractors. This includes the various types of engines used in the tractors, the air system, rear end transmissions, suspension, steering, and electrical systems etc. This person must be able to weld with gas, aluminum, arc, and line feed. The Diesel Technician holds a high skill level in welding and mechanics. Because the industry is constantly changing, this person must be willing to participate in educational seminars on their own time.
